Mata Bajreshwari Devi (Kangra Devi Ji): This temple in Kangra is a symbol of people’s faith & devotion. Every year Lakhs of devotees visit this temple to pay their obeisance. The temple gains special significance at Lohri festival. This was once filled with a legendary wealth of diamonds and pearls. Mahmood Ghazni came here in 11th century and took away all the wealth with him. It was rebuilt by a Katoch King in 1043. The temple was again destroyed by an earthquake in 1905. It was rebuilt in its present form in 1920.
Kangra Fort : The famous Kangra Fort is said to have been built by Susarma Chandra shortly after the Mahabharata. The Fort on the Chandigarh-Dharamshala NH 88 is at a distance of 225 KM from Chandigarh. The Fort of Kangra occupies a long narrow strip of land in the fork between Manjhi and Bhanganga rivers. The Fort stands as a mute witness to the ravages of conquerors from Mohamed of Ghazni (1009 AD) to the Emperor Jehangir (1619 AD) and the disastrous earthquake of 1905. Emperor Akbar made many attempts to capture this fort but could not succeed. This place is now called as “Purana Kangra”.
Jain Temple: Kangra is quite famous among the Jain community as Jain temple, one of the oldest temples of Jain clan is erected here. Devotees from India and abroad visit the temple to pay their obeisance.
Baijnath temple : Baijnath Shiv temple is abut 50 K.M. from the hotel. Situated alongside Mandi - Palampur road. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple is worshipped for the lingam of Shiva. Originally named as Kirangama, the name of the temple changed to Baijnath after dedicating it to Lord Shiva, who is also known as the 'Lord of Physicians'. Every year during the month of March 'Shivratri fair' is celebrated to mark the presence of Lord Shiva and witnessed by huge number of devotees who sing, dance and perform prayers to the main deity of the temple.
Rock Cut Temples Masrur: The monolithic temple complex of Massur is one of the rare architectural marvels in India. It is located majestically on the summit of a local sandstone range, at a distance of about 45 KM from Kangra. The Masrur temple complex once consisted of nineteen free-standing rock cut temples, however some of them are survived.
Pong Lake Sanctuary : Pong Lake was created in 1976. This reservoir attracts a large number of migratory water birds and is the only place in India where the rare ‘red-necked grebe’ has been recorded. Also known as Maharana Pratap Sagar wetland, it is home to a considerable percentage of Asian water birds like the Bar headed geese as well as threatened species such as the Greater spotted Eagle, Blue whistling thresh, Asian pied flycatcher and whistle throated kingfisher.
