Munsyari 125 kms from Pithoragarh. A 80 miles journey from Pithoragarh(40 miles river side and 40 miles of sight scenes and falls) is full of adventure. Gaining heights with changing flora and fauna, from chir to deodar, deodar to surai and spur to paper tree and rhododendrons. At Nachani(a midway village) greets you with delicious food, resting sites, cold and hot drinks providing tents for stay and enjoying water spoils, angling, river rafting or simply have a cool- cool dip in the Namic glacier originated Ramganga from Nachani, the way onwards shows a number of water falls. Sulphur springs and the majestic Virthi fall. Which falls from the height of 125 mtr.s.. Now the Road aligns the higher mountains, the air becomes cooler reaching the top. The top road passes l.he dense Surai forest with Rhododendrons. MEDITATION IN NATURAL BEAUTY OF MUNSIYARI It is a day travel through Roseate dawns and crimson dusks can leave you simply siareing in the snow laden summits for hours. A days trek to the nearby village like Darkot 4 kms and Daranti 7 kms can lead to an intimate knowladge of the culturally rich style of the rural inhabitants of Munsiyari. A jeep safari through Madkote, Chori-Bagar, Baneanani JouUibi and back entailgh absolutely picturesque location and water falls along the bank of Gori Ganga and you may end up exhausting the entire camera roll. This provides one of the best stretch for river rafting with different grades of rapids in Gori Ganga. RHODODENDRON & PANCHACHULI IN MUNSIYARI Have you ever seen the gardens of flowering trees? Yes it is a splendid time in Munsiyari between march to april, when the whole jungle turns red with rhododendron flowers with gardens- gardens of rhododendron trees having pink, red, dark pink and white flowers combining the Panchachuli peak. BETULIDHAR ( MUNSIYARI ) A big garden of Rhododendron: A clicking point at the sun-set when the whole range turns carved gold and a beautiful skiing slope in winters. THAMARI KUND ( MUNSIYARI ) A picturesque natural lake surrounded by paper trees, a natural habitat of Musk Deer. NANDA DEVI TEMPLE ( MUNSIYARI ) A refreshing trek of 3 kms. to the temple from our base. One can enjoy horse riding on this trek. FLORA AND FAUNA ( MUNSIYARI ) The lower ranges come alive during spring with birds and blossoms. At lower altitudes we see Jays, the whistleing thrush, finches, wagtails, the hawk Cuckoo, colourful Cuckoo, the Lammergier, wild Hens ,Teetar Pheasants, at higher levels the magnificent surpant eagle, the Falcon, the exquisite Monal. Leopards, Panthers. Mountain Bears and the elusive Musk Deer found only in Munsiyari region make spottingwild life. The forest are luxuriant mix of Pine, Deodar, Oaks, Spruce, Cypress and the flowering Rhododendrons, lots of rare herbs and also the Morcilla (gucchi)
